Cary P. Stynes LLB. (Melb) MAICD

Cary Stynes is a senior corporate M&A and litigation lawyer and holds a current Victorian legal practicing certificate. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia

He specialises in advising early-stage companies, raising seed and later stage capital and arranging the listing of companies on the ASX. He was previously a lawyer with international law firm Minter Ellison before establishing his own law firm which he has operated for 30 years. He is also a former lecturer in Law at Monash University.

In 1994 he co-founded and was Managing Director of media and advertising company, Media and Entertainment Group Limited which listed on the ASX in 1995 and expanded throughout Australia as well as into Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and South America. That company was ultimately acquired by CPH Limited (Kerry Packer) in 1999.

Since 2000 he has arranged the ASX listing and been the Chief Executive Officer of ASX listed Software Communication Group Limited, restructured, re-capitalised and became Managing Director of CBD Online, subsequently CBD Energy Limited and The Swish Group Limited. He is also a former Non-Executive Director of Traffic Technologies Limited, MCM Entertainment Limited, Teys Limited (now OAR Resources Limited), and arranged the ASX listing and was General Legal Counsel for a USA (Hollywood) based digital media and advertising company. He has also previously sat on the Board of children’s cancer charity The Koala Foundation.

He has, in various capacities arranged the restructuring, re-capitalisation, IPO’s and RTO’s and conducted capital raisings for a number of Australian and international companies listed on the ASX in the media and technology, infrastructure, mining, retail, agriculture and related sectors and sat on a number of private and public Company boards for 30 years.

In the area of medical cannabis, he has significant experience dealing with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Office of Drug Control (ODC) and various State Agricultural Departments in Australia, having assisted clients in obtained hemp growing licences, import and export licences and permits, Schedule 4 and 8 licences to sell and supply restricted product. He has also assisted clients conduct successful Equity Crowdfunding campaigns on a number of Australian crowdfunding platforms.

He is currently Executive Chairman of soon to be listed Botanic Wellness Limited and its Australian, UK and USA subsidiaries, is the CEO of sustainable environmental bioplastics business Botanic Bioplastics Pty Ltd and is a Non-Executive Director of ASX listed TZ Limited a director of a number of private investment companies.

Nikola Sonerson

Nikola is an Australian Lawyer and holds a current Victorian legal practicing certificate. She was educated at Victoria University and holds both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts. She majored in Fine Arts and minored in Communications in her Arts studies. She also has a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Victorian College of Law. 

She has previous work experience in compensation law and has interned in the Victorian Magistrates Courts with Victorian legal aid. 

Nikola has practiced commercial law in various jurisdictions including the Supreme Court of Victoria. She is skilled in working with counsel and has experience applying for and obtaining licences and permits from the Department of Health and the Office of Drug Control and also has experience liaising with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
